Kristin Lee: American Sketches CD
Violinist Kristin Lee's debut solo album offers a distinct and recognizable sound of American music, encapsulating both Lee's journey as an American, as well as the journeys of the featured composers (H.T. Burleigh, Kevin Puts, Amy Beach, and others) in the United States. Chicago-native pianist Jeremy Ajani Jordan accompanies Lee on most selections. Lee says his "unparalleled ability to play both written and improvised music sets him apart from any other musician I have worked with," noting that he improvised the arrangements of Gershwin, Joplin, and Monk included on the album.
