Henry Fogel: Viennese Treasures - A Celebration of Johann Strauss II
In celebration of the 200th anniversary of Johann Strauss Jr.'s birth, Henry Fogel has curated Viennese treasures from his personal library. Remastered at WFMT, hear historical performances of some of Strauss's most famous melodies, plus music by his contemporaries and dazzling works inspired by Strauss. Artists include pianists György Cziffra and Jorge Bolet; tenors Joseph Schmidt and Fritz Wunderlich; and conductors Wilhelm Furtwängler and Erich Wolfgang Korngold.
