Carolina Chocolate Drops: Genuine Negro Jig 15th Anniversary Edition CD
This special edition of Carolina Chocolate Drops' 2010 Grammy Award-winning album Genuine Negro Jig is out now on Nonesuch. The reissue features founding band members Dom Flemons, Rhiannon Giddens, and Justin Robinson on the original album, seven previously unreleased tracks, plus a 2025 remaster of “City of Refuge” and a 2025 mix of “Memphis Shakedown.” All three artists are renowned for their scholarship and musicianship as they have uncovered the origins of and maintain the vibrance of Black American Piedmont string band music. Flemons, Giddens, and Robinson are virtuosos who come together with brilliance, harmony, and verve.
