Alexandra Dariescu: A Child’s Dream CD

Romanian pianist Alexandra Dariescu describes this album as showcasing “the music that has been my lifelong companion, travelling with me across the globe but also some hidden gems by neglected composers throughout history, voices which deserve to be heard.” The repertoire centers Mozart’s Rondo in D, K. 382, performed with the Academy of St. Martin in the Fields. The remaining selections span various eras and nations, with an emphasis on women composers including the world premiere recording of Emma Schäfer Klein’s Child’s Dream, Clara Schumann’s Three Romances featuring violinist Tomo Keller, and Nadia Boulanger’s Three Pieces for Cello and Piano featuring cellist Richard Hardwood.
